Ignore List in Gridinsoft Anti-Malware

Ignore List

Sometimes, files you use and web addresses you know to be safe might be considered threats by security software. To avoid picking them out of scan results every time, you can add these files and links to Ignore list.

Ignore list is a function that prevents GridinSoft Anti-Malware from detecting files and blocking links that you consider clean. You can add files to the ignore list upon their detection or anytime, manually. Here’s how to do it.

How to access the ignore list?

You can get to the ignore list via the Scan or Tools tab. In the Scan tab, look for a text line “N items in Ignore List” at the lower-right. Press it; you will access the ignore list.

Accessing Ignore List form Scan tab
In the Scan tab, look for a text line “N items in Ignore List” at the lower-right. Press it.

Alternatively, in the Tools tab, you will see an Exclusions section at the bottom-right and the Ignore List button in it. If you move back from the Ignore list, you will be directed to the Tools tab.

Accessing Ignore List via Tools Tab
In the Tools tab, you will see an Exclusions section at the bottom-right and the Ignore List button in it.

As you open the Ignore, pay attention to the two vertically arranged tabs: System and Internet. The former is for files, and the latter is for links.

Two tabs of the Ignore List
The Internet tab is for URLs while the System tab is for files.

You can see two buttons in both tabs: Add and Clear. Press the former to add an item, be it a file or a link.

If you are adding a file, you will have to select it in the drive explorer window that will appear.

If you are adding an URL link for the GridinSoft Anti-Malware Internet Protection service to ignore it, you will see this window:

Adding a link to an ignore list window
Choose the options you need when adding a link to an ignore list.

Note that you can add a sole link, but you can also add the entire domain to which this link belongs (to choose either of these options, check one of the radio buttons.) If you want the program to ignore the added link in the current session only, check the respective box below.

Clearing items from the ignore list.
To remove the file or an internet address from the ignore list, find the item in the respective tab, select it, and press Clear.

Adding detected items to the ignore list upon their detection

After the scan, when the program displays the list of detected threats, you can add found items to the ignore list. To do it, make sure that Advanced options are on (a switch above the list.) If they are on, you will be able to see and toggle action bars, showing what action the program will apply to each found threat and, if you are interested, to all detected items.

Adding an object to the Ignore List from scan results.
Choose “Ignore always” in the dropdown menu to add an item to the ignore list.

Press a tiny arrow located to the right of the threat entry to manage an individual threat, or press the same looking arrow near the Apply to all text in the masthead of the list. In both cases, the dropdown menu will pop up. Select “Ignore always” to add the selected item (or all items) to the ignore list.
